The Ford Motor Company invested heavily in electric-vehicle start-up Rivian Automotive Inc. (RIVN) almost two years ago. Ford’s investment of $500 million into Rivian became a bit lighter today as Ford announced they have recently sold 8 million Rivian shares.

The Street.com is reporting that Ford is beginning the process to eliminate their Mercury brand. This is only a suprise to those of us who thought they already eliminated their Mercury Brand. This decision is as obvious as GM eliminating Oldsmobile.

Ford announced today that it would begin to “insource” 160 new jobs in 2 Michigan Plants. Both factories will deal with the production of electric vehicles. 160 jobs certainly doesn’t mean the end of outsourcing, nor will 160 new jobs reverse the massive unemployment in Michigan.
